Caring and Sharing

MONO+n.a.v.y believes in recycling, upcycling and sustainability in the production of its pieces. This extends from our products and ready-to-wear to our packaging - the latter is biodegradable. We do not use plastic. When, on occasion there is not a wholly sustainable material to use, we will pick the one that is as friendly as possible to nature. For instance, instead of leather, using vegetable leather which doesn’t require chemical dyes.Typically, recycled and sustainable materials often cost more, but MONO+n.a.v.y  would always prefer to invest in these ultimately to invest in the environment and reduce the use of something with harmful impact.

MONO+n.a.v.y uses BCI Cotton and is part of the Global Recycled Standard. The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) — a global not-for-profit organisation — is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world.BCI exist to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future.

In the 2018-19 cotton season, 2.3 million BCI Farmers received training on more sustainable farming practices and produced 5.6 million tonnes of Better Cotton – that equates to 22% of global cotton production.
